When to come to us

Getting ill away from home is stressful, and it is not always obvious where to go. Budacare Medical is the right place when you need to be seen quickly by a doctor who speaks English, but your condition is not life-threatening. We examine you, explain what is going on, and arrange any imaging or treatment you need – usually on the same day.

What we commonly treat

These are the reasons international visitors most often come to us:

🤒Fever and infections
🫁Flu and respiratory symptoms
🤢Gastrointestinal problems
👂Ear, nose & throat complaints
🐝Allergic reactions
🩹Minor injuries
💊Lost or run-out medication
🧳Lost luggage & missing meds

If you are not sure whether your symptoms need to be seen today, call us on +36 30 630 6969 during opening hours and we will tell you honestly whether you should come in, book a video consultation, or go straight to a hospital.

🛡️

When to call 112 instead

We are a private outpatient clinic, not a hospital emergency department. If you have chest pain, difficulty breathing, severe bleeding, signs of a stroke, loss of consciousness, a serious accident or any other life-threatening symptom, call 112 immediately or go to the nearest hospital emergency department. Do not wait for an appointment with us.

Walk-in appointments in Budapest

1. You arrive or connect

Reception registers you. Bring your ID or passport and, if you have one, your insurance card or policy number.

2. An English-speaking doctor examines you

The doctor assesses your symptoms and decides exactly what care or imaging you need.

3. We guide what happens next

Treatment, imaging or a referral if needed – plus the documentation you need for your travel insurance claim.

What it costs

Consultations start from €100. You pay at the clinic by debit card, credit card or cash, and we give you the documentation you need to claim from your travel insurer: a Hungarian medical record plus an English-language summary.

In most cases travel insurance covers the visit. You pay at the clinic and claim afterwards with the documentation we provide. Cover always depends on your own policy, so check your terms before you travel.

Good to know

Frequently asked questions

Are you open now?
We are open every day of the year, from 8:00 to 20:00, including weekends and public holidays. Outside these hours, call 112 if your condition is urgent.
Can I come without an appointment?
Yes. Walk-ins are welcome during opening hours when slots allow. Calling ahead on +36 30 630 6969 is faster, because we can tell you the current waiting situation before you set off.
How quickly can I be seen?
Often the same day. We offer same-day appointments every day of the year, and we arrange imaging such as X-ray, CT, ultrasound or MRI frequently on the same day too.
Do your doctors speak English?
Yes. All care runs in English, and patient intake is available in several languages.
Will my travel insurance cover it?
In most cases, yes. You pay at the clinic and we give you the documentation needed for your claim - a Hungarian medical record plus an English-language summary. Cover always depends on your own policy.
Can I pay by card?
Yes - we accept debit and credit cards at the clinic, as well as cash. If you book online, the payment at the end of the booking process can only be made by card, and that payment confirms your appointment.
I lost my luggage and my medication. Can you help?
Yes, this happens often. If your luggage is delayed, you have run out of your regular medication, or you only have foreign paperwork Hungarian pharmacies will not accept, we can help through an online video consultation and issue the valid Hungarian documentation you need.
Is this an emergency room?
No. We are a private outpatient clinic for urgent but non-life-threatening problems. For chest pain, breathing difficulty, severe bleeding, signs of a stroke or any life-threatening symptom, call 112 or go to the nearest hospital emergency department.
